Mistra SafeChem is a large Swedish research programme for green and sustainable chemical industry, with the aim to reduce exposure to hazardous substances.
Central parts of this interdisciplinary programme are to develop new processes for the industry and a toolbox with models and methods for the risk assessment of chemicals.
Mistra SafeChem is led by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and also includes researchers from Stockholm University, RISE, KTH and the Technical University of Denmark. The entire industry value chain is participating – from the manufacturers of chemicals to those who use them in industrial processes and products.
The programme is financed by Mistra, The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research, and runs from 2020 to 2024.
